Hi guys, This weekend I started my punto (1.3 multijet) and it was a bit sluggish to start but just assumed doing a few short journeys to work and back with heaters on, lights on etc etc the battery was a bit low. Drove it 10miles up the road with out a miss splutter cough nothing. Stopped couple hours later went to Air input, in/recirc switch, blower, output. (cooling is in there somewhere too). The air input/recirc switch will be a combination of outside air and inside air inputs to the switch. Given that the smell goes on recirculation - I can only surmise that its coming from the outside air input.

I have a 2009 fiat punto grande 1.4 petrol 8 valve I am slightly concerned about the fuel economy. I put in £15 of unleaded the other day which was at £1.09 a litre which works out at 13.7 litres My estimated mileage was only 125 miles on this and the tank showed a quarter full. Now my fuel light is on and it shows I've only done 90 miles.

Clean the tank without removing it on Fiat Punto: As soon as you have access to the tank, you will see the fuel pump which is mounted on the tank. You will first have to unscrew to reach the tank. Once this is done, it will take pump the fuel into the tank using a pump. Finally clean the bottom of the tank with a clean wipe to remove residues. Also when I removed the filter it had the airflow arrow facing towards the engine - contrary to the advice in this guide. I have had the car from new and the only time the filter has been changed is now - so the factory must have fitted it wrong.
